President Neilson came for the devotional this week!!!!! It was very awesome, and something I found significant was his work on the missionary handbook. He and his buddies worked on updating the handbook to accommodate changes in technology, culture and everything else. They finished and sent it to the first presidency for approval. They got it back with a handwritten note from president Nelson. "Add more joy" So they restarted and did that, and I think that this is an important principle that can be applied to all aspects of life.    Khmer Words of the week are pizza, to eat, and language ភីសា is pe sah.  ភិសា is pii sah ភាសា is pea sah.  You tell me which ones which cuz they sound the same to me English words of the week are after and afterwards. Why is my language so goofy? When used properly I guess these two are opposites !! It took us like 20 min in class going through different sentences to figure this out and people using it wrong in sentences (very easy to do ex..

I would like to share a quick message. "Wherefore, fear not even unto death; for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your joy is full. Therefore, care not for the body, neither the life of the body; but care for the soul, and for the life of the soul. And seek the face of the Lord always that in patience ye may possess your souls, and ye shall have eternal life." This week I've been thinking about what is really important, and I've always known much of the things (ex: tik tok, netflix ect...) that I did before my mission really had no significance at all. In fact many of my distractions probably ended up just taking me away from better activities.  The instant pleasures of the body are of no importance to the soul.  The opposite is true though. Work is an eternal principle, and things that require effort, and alot of it, are often the things that have every kind of value.  One of my teachers said yesterday, "there is no growth in the comfort zone, an

More   pictures, Elder haslam showers next to me at night and it lowkey weird because he just looks me in the eyes when we talk but thats alright cuz hes chill. Also this is just a reenactment not a real shower don't worry. More barber shop shenanigans, and my dorm mates comforting me after I drank so much chocolate milk I had to lay down or throw up. (current record is 4 (seems small, but that milk is thick thick) which is disappointing because I thought I could do 5 easily.)

Week 5 or so

What even is time? I have no idea. My days are long, and the weeks are short.  A picture is a thousand words, and so ill give many thousands. Today will be a small update because not much happened outside the norm. The last couple weeks I started a blackmarket barber shop. People don't like the mtc barber because they buzz peoples head, which is peculiar because that's what most of the people want me to do anyway. It's so fun to watch all the new elders come in every week, and then they see me in the bathroom at night, lining someone up, then asking to get themselves cut. No need for billboards, my skills are their own advertisers.  Anyway, my operation got a little too big as I brought on apprentice barbers, additional chairs/clipper set ups, and many clients. The opposition doesnt wanna see me win, and so I'm laying low for a while.  Hardest cut so far- Aisian hair man wanted a skin fade up to above his ears. (we had to go pretty short to fix it when i was done Easi

Heres some epic ties that master chytraus bestowed to me. Also goodbye to these people ill miss them. Chytraus is the guy in the suit, he is leaving, and will no longer be teaching us.  This second pic should be burned as the abomination it is. Steak tenders. Hard to eat, harder to ummm, complete the digestion cycle ykDO NOT ATTEMPT to consume.  The rest is self explainatory, but i love each of my photos so much and so I share with you these things.  Im still figuring out how to share photos, and there is a weird 25 mb limit so that messes things up sometimes. over time ill get better im sure.

Alrighty so I actually started learning Khmer and its very challenging, but also so rewarding to be able to kind of think in a crazy squiggle code. The alphabet is basically mine already, and so now I working on all kinds of words and phrases. Next week they want us to have memorized all of basic core which is a document with pretty much enough khmer knowledge to talk to someone. Scary but I just gotta put together the words in the proper grammatical form so easy enough. Also next week is an appointment with a native Khmer speaker and me and my companion have to actually talk to her. Also scary, but I think it will be a great opportunity to develop my comprehension, and fluency.  Food The food at the "western bar" is very hit or miss. I feel like its either edible or I can eat as much of it as I want without wanting to die.  However they also have something on the other side of the cafeteria they call the aloha plate. Chicken (or pulled pork or spam), rice, mac salad. A tru
